What is cosmetic tattoo/permanent makeup (PMU)?
Especially designed pigment is deposited under superficial layers of skin using a machine. The technician uses these tiny pixels of colour to create a subtle enhancement that will save you time and help build your confidence. Generally, 2 appointments are required to create optimal results.
What is the difference between ombre powder, feather touch and microblading?
As explained in the previous question, we use a machine to create a powder effect and we can customise this technique to be natural and light or more bold and defined. We find this technique creates very little trauma in the skin, has great outcomes for majority of clients and does not create scar tissue that is hard to add colour to in the future.
Feather touch and microblading are terms that are used interchangeably, they are a technique that uses a blade (or needles in a row) to cut stroke like incisions into the brow area depositing pigment manually into the skin. We have chosen not to offer feather touch/microblading because it is only suitable for an obscure skin type, it has a far lower satisfaction rate for clients overall and creates scar tissue/thickening of the skin making it difficult to retouch and maintain desired results over time.
All tattooing techniques should be preformed by a suitably qualified technician.
how often do i need a tattoo touch up (colour boost)?
Although PMU may never disappear, it will lighten, lose warmth and vibrance with time.
Due to the uniqueness of skin to every individual, it’s impossible to tell exactly how long your tattoo will last but we do know that most people opt to get a colour boost once every 1-3 years.
is there anyone who cannot have Cosmetic tattooing?
Unfortunately, pregnant and/or breastfeeding women and people with compromised immune systems are not suitable candidates for our treatments. A thorough health history will be used to ensure that PMU is right for you and that any risks individual to you are managed accordingly.
how long does the tattooing take?
Your initial PMU appointment slot will be 1.5 hours long, your complimentary perfection session will be no sooner than 6 weeks later.
Can I get my brows wet?
Well, you can’t go swimming or get sweaty until they’re healed however your aftercare regime will require you to cleanse, click here for more details about aftercare.
how long does tattooing takE to heal?
Tattooing goes through different healing phases over about 6 weeks however there is zero down time. Your tattoo might have slight redness straight after your appointment however you are hot to trot straight back to work if you wish. Around day 4-10 you will experience some peeling for 2-4 days, this is really the only awkward part of the healing process. Because PMU is so popular, most people (if they even notice) will identify that you’ve had a fresh treatment and hopefully compliment you new brows.
Does cosmetic tattoo hurt?
This treatment is very well tolerated. If you’ve been tattooed on your body before, you will most likely find this a much more comfortable procedure. People describe the feeling as scratchy at the start and a little uncomfortably warm at the end but we’ve never experienced a client not wanting their second session due to ‘pain’. It’s not uncommon after we start a procedure for clients to say ‘Is that all? I got worked up over nothing.’.
